Our thrusters are powered by water plasma that is generated via Electron Cyclotron Resonance (ECR) and is the culmination of decades of research by JAXA and the University of Tokyo. Pale Blue has successfully miniturized this plasma-generation method so that it can flexibly meet the propulsion needs of a wide range of satellites, even cubesats.
Spacecraft manufacturers and operators can now capture all of the benefits of water without the steep performance tradeoffs that historically made water-based propulsion unviable for space propulsion.
