Pale Blue received “the President of Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency Award” at the 6th Space Development and Utilization Awards, sponsored by the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan. Jun Asakawa, CEO of Pale Blue, also attended the award ceremony today, and discussed “Strategy to be successful not only in space technologies but also in industry and business” with other award winners.

“Space development and utilization is extremely important for the national strategy as well as the driver for advancing the 4th Industrial Revolution,” said Jun Asakawa, CEO of Pale Blue. “Our water-based propulsion systems have enormous potential to tremendously accelerate the space development by dominating the market with the 3 strengths of safety, easy handling and affordability. Carrying the honor of the President of Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency Award in our hearts, we will strive for further technological innovation, expansion of production capacity, and global business development, to achieve creating mobility that is core to the space industry.”

 

Reasons to be granted “the President of Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency Award”

Pale Blue’s technology is expected to make a great leap forward in the future for its technological novelty and originality, and is expected to contribute to extending the life of small satellites and their safe disposal by being installed in future small satellites. The award also recognizes the successful in-orbit operation of the water resistojet thruster, which resolves safety, handling and cost issues that satellites have in the phase of satellite usage expansion, on a commercial satellite in March 2023.
