Pale Blue’s water micro-propulsion system has been selected by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) as the theme for the Innovative Satellite Technology Demonstration Program to provide private companies and universities with opportunities to conduct on-orbit demonstrations of equipment, components, nano-satellites and CubeSats. The reasons for the selection are as follows:
The demonstration of a safe, non-toxic, easy-to-use, water-based micro propulsion system that can achieve a wide variety of propulsion functions by integrating two types of propulsion systems and is highly competitive in the world. It can be widely applied to ultra-low-altitude satellites and deep space explorers, and is expected to contribute to shorter development times and lower costs.
In the Innovative Satellite Technology Demonstration Program, Pale Blue aims to enhance the competitiveness of its products by conducting an in-orbit demonstration of a water micro-propulsion system that integrates two types of propulsion systems into a single component: water-based resistojet thrusters and ion thrusters.
