Pale Blue Hosts Unveiling Ceremony for Tsukuba Production Engineering Base Governor of Ibaraki and Mayor of Tsukuba Join Ribbon-Cutting and Facility Tour

CHIBA, Japan (Apr. 8) – Pale Blue held an unveiling ceremony for its Tsukuba Production Engineering Base (hereafter “the Base”) in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture. The ceremony marked the commencement of full-scale operations at the Base, which was established to facilitate the mass production of propulsion systems. The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests Kazuhiko Oigawa, Governor of Ibaraki Prefecture, and Tatsuo Igarashi, Mayor of Tsukuba City, who participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a guided tour of the facility.

Ceremony Overview

The ceremony commenced with an address by Jun Asakawa, Co-founder & CEO of Pale Blue, who detailed the Base’s strategic mission and its future roadmap. Following congratulatory speeches by Governor Oigawa and Mayor Igarashi, a ceremonial ribbon-cutting was performed to celebrate the launch of full-scale operations at the Base. Afterward, the Governor and the Mayor were given a guided tour of the facility. The tour offered a first-hand look at the production floor dedicated to the mass production of propulsion systems, alongside key equipment including vacuum chambers.

Significance of the Base and Future Roadmap

With the Base now in full-scale operation, Pale Blue will transition its research and development achievements into mass production, enabling a swift response to the growing global demand for propulsion systems. Tsukuba City in Ibaraki Prefecture is one of Japan’s premier science cities, hosting a dense concentration of research institutions and space-sector enterprises. Furthermore, through local job creation and continuous capital investment, Pale Blue aims to contribute to the economic development of both Ibaraki Prefecture and Tsukuba City.
